    Central locking/alarm/glowplug - electrical gremlin

I went to the car a few minutes ago, and this is what the dashboard disco lights were doing, all on their own, no key in. I have disconnected the battery...

    Central locking/alarm/glowplug - electrical gremlin

Hello 2005 2.2 D tourer A year ago, after a month of lockdown I started the car with a weak battery. The engine management light came on, and when I stopped it the blipper on the key wouldn't work. I took all the fuses out and replaced them (one by one!) and the following day called the AA. The...

Boot not opening- 05 Tourer Tailgate

Fault gone away. I think the somewhat flat battery confused the ECU, caused the engine management light, the remote central locking system threw a wobbly too. Taking out the fuses to check them had the effect of turning the ECU off and on again, and resetting the engine management light fixed it...

    Starting problem

Agreed, obviously not glowplugs given the continuing problem with hot starting. Interestingly, the remote central locking stopped working at the same time as the engine management light came on (or at least, after I'd driven the car a bit and stopped the remote central locking no longer...

    Starting problem

Hi F6HAD, thanks for your thoughts. The Fuel Filter is a proper Honda one, I bought it myself and watched him put it on, August 2018 - since when the car has done 8k miles. AA man said the battery was fine, and it's two or three years old. And whilst it definitely felt a bit weak when I first...

Boot not opening- 05 Tourer Tailgate

I went to the car yesterday and opened it with the blipper (the button on the key, no idea what you'd call it, but you get the idea), and opened the boot with the blipper and shut it with the 'close' button. Started the car, the engine management light came on (thread elsewhere about that...

    Starting problem

So I went to take the car for a run to charge the battery yesterday. Bit slow turning over, but then it hasn't moved for a month, and it can feel a bit slow if it hasn't driven for a while, but started first time. And the engine check light came on. Drove 20 miles/for an hour. Stopped for five...

    Key fob battery change

So I undid the screw using a soldering iron as per instructions. What glue should I use to re-close it? Thanks

    Tailgate creaking

Where are you finding these struts? Are you removing a cover? Cheers

    Slipping clutch

It's not supposed only to do 45k (on an un-souped-up car) though is it. Either that or I don't deserve to drive a car any longer. What should I be looking out for as a sign that it has had it, rather than just adjusting itself? Thanks.

    Slipping clutch

Well, I spoke too soon didn't I, that will teach me. The last 2000 miles (which means the clutch has done about 45,000 miles in total) it has taken to slipping really quite a lot. Only a bit really, but I can pretty much guarantee that flooring the accelerator will make the clutch slip. Do you...

    Tailgate creaking

When the tailgate of my tourer opens it creaks horribly for the first little bit - this is a new thing as of last week. Does it need oiling, will it carry on like that for ages, or is it about to give up? If the latter, is it (practically, given the car is worth peanuts) fixable? Thanks

    Slipping clutch

Here's a problem I had forgotten I had ever had. Went away as you promised.

I-CDTI Engine cuts out when accelareting

Despite promising me he would fit a proper Honda filter, the garage fitted me a Crossland filter two years ago. Car recently took to cutting out sometimes at 4000 revs in 2nd and 3rd. Then it went into limp-home mode, so limp home I did. AA man came and diagnosed fuel pressure problems; I looked...

Tourer: Changing 'corner' tail light unit

I didn't dare hope it would be *that* easy! Thanks.

Tourer: Changing 'corner' tail light unit

Anybody done this? Is it easy or an absolute pig? And what needs doing. Haven't even had a look at the car yet - it's always dark and all that - but have received replacement unit.

    Slipping clutch

Thanks. Isn't the risk that in "keeping an eye on it" (i.e. ignoring it) I end up needing a DMF as well?

    Slipping clutch

Car (55 plate 2.2D tourer) had a new clutch and DMF done by the dealer I bought it from, 5 years and 30,000 miles ago. (How time flies!) This weekend I did 250 miles and on three occasions the clutch slipped - on all three occasions I was accelerating hardish in 5th at 45mph. Equally, I...
