    Diagnostic Connector

And if it is anything like mine it will not stay in place properly when you try and plug in to it!

    Tyre weld and others

Do all Accord wheels fit all Accords? I'm asking as I'm not sure - with some makes of cars you get different disk sizes so a smaller rim won't always fit over a larger disk. Plus you need the correct offset.

    Applying WD40

Surely they use coil packs rather than HT leads?

How large is the fuel tank on a Honda Accord estate ?

The dash display is hopelessly optimistic - it used to cheerfully tell me I was getting 57 mpg on occasions and the best I ever managed was an actual 46 mpg on a tank. My average over 10k miles was 44.75 mpg on standard tune and 42.5 mpg on stage 1 tune (I religiously write down mileages on the...

    2004 i-CTDI low MPG

Couldn't you just jack each wheel up and see if it turns freely?

So where do I start replacing the Accord?

I sold my Accord and went for a 2005 Saab 9-5 Aero estate. Cost me 3k, spent 1,100 on LPG and can now run it for the same cost as the diesel Accord (I do lots of miles). An LPG converted one would be even better as you would have to shell out for the conversion, obviously. 2006 is a facelift...

Rear brake pads worn quickly, could they be stuck?

I avoid using any grease near the pads or calipers and I understand that Copperslip / copper grease degrades rubber so should be especially avoided. If the brake parts are all working properly you shouldn't need any grease anyway.

    SatNav won't GPS

GPS aerials are cheap as chips on eBay. I've no idea if Honda one's fail, but Renault ones do commonly fail (I had to replace one in our Espace). If the Accord one is there in the dash then it would be a piece of cake to replace necessary.

Optimum shift points for 2.2 I-CTDI acceleration

It'd be handy if you could put in red where you go to on changing gear, just for laziness' sake :P (So green is where you leave the gear and red is where you arrive in the next gear).

    Diesel...cold start problem

But, but, but - why doesn't the garage just test the resistances in the wiring? Or voltages at the starter?

    Terraclean diesel

This is the problem with additives - there are no independent long term test results available and the people using them are the guinea pigs. At best you can hope for a tiny little bit of improvement, a good result is just that no damage is done, but if your engine is knackered then that's...

Is it worth getting Stage 1 Re-map?

If you're paying for it then they're not going to refuse to take your money. You can't 'see' that a car is tuned, but a tune could conceivably effect the warranty on the clutch.

    HEADREST DVD PLAYERS

I've had fitted ones in the past but now have removable dvd/screens - much cheaper (because you don't have to get them fitted) and you can keep them when you sell the car.

    Electric Seat Conversion

I've done it to mine - there is no pre-wiring so I took the feed from the cigarette lighter in the centre glove box. If you want to really do it properly you'd have to get the gear surround with heated seat switches and run additional power for the heaters (I'd suggest a new fused feed from the...

    Plenty faults

If you've got a laptop you can get an ELM 327 (search for that on eBay) for about £20, but I like the look of the Bluetooth one linked to above which looks very cheap / good value.

    hesitent acceleration and poor mpg

On the subject of oil changes - looking at it cynically, you're not doing much mileage so why change the oil more often than recommended? Over 2 years you might be looking at brake disks & pads and tyres but (if you're doing clutch now) there shouldn't be any other consumables. That just...

What sort of mpg do you all get on your diesels?

Sadly the dash reading is hopelessly optimistic and no where near real consumption

    17" wheels and tramlining

Quick update - I've checked the pressures all round and they are at 2.4 bar which is the same as what I ran the the old tyres at. So my conclusion from my experience from my tyres is that worn tyres tramline but the new ones don't. I'll update again when my new tyres are worn as to whether or...

    Seat Removal/Refiiting

As above - I replaced my Sport seats with leather and the front seats just bolt down with one in each corner. Remove them then tilt it backwards to get to the plug(s). Note that the rear bolts have plastic covers which you lever off. Manual drivers seat has airbag plug and seatbelt warning...

    SALOON! Boot Issues

Have you tried pushing the boot down gently (or not so gently) to relieve pressure on the catch as you press the release button(s)?
