Tow bar on Type S Tourer

What kind of caravan can you tow with a 2.4? The manual says the trailer should not exceed 450 kg in weight; this seems to limit your choices.

8th Gen accord 2.0L engine oil

Rich, I thought the thicker the oil at high temp the longer the life of the engine. Thinner oil may give lower consumption at the price of increased wear? The temperatures in Germany are similar to the UK, maybe they account for the fact you don't have speed limits and the engine may run at high...

8th Gen accord 2.0L engine oil

My German dealer uses Fuchs synthetic 5W40 oil for my 2.4 petrol engine. Anyone has an idea if this is a good oil?

Thanks Brett! So when I start hearing the squeaking noise I may only have a couple of hundreds miles before the metal starts eating into the disc?

    Service reminder

Does anyone know how to switch-off the service reminder from the steering wheel or is this something that only the dealer can do?

    2.4 buying tip.

I would check the clutch - sniff for a burnt clutch, cheek for slippage. Other than that 2.4 is a wonderful machine.

Is it dangerous to swap front/back tyres over?

If you rotate frequently - e.g. whenever you change summer/winter tires - the difference in tread wear front/back will not be significant and you won't notice under/oversteer, just a progressive lack of grip, down to the level when you will feel it's safer to change all tires. They all say it's...

    8th Gen interior noise

I had the squeak on the half leather seat. Not a big problem though, gets fixed easily. More annoyed of the wind noise, I would have expected it to be more silent given it's sold in the US as a luxury car.

    Squeaking driver seat

Finally got to it, Honda dealers in Germany replaced the sponge without any cost. At first the leather on the seat appeared squished, it came back to its original form after sitting a while in the chair. Well done Mr. Wagner!

    Squeaking driver seat

Hi, I noticed a squeaking noise coming from the driver seat. I hear it when I push myself back into the seat, it seems to be coming from the lumbar support area next to the armrest. Anyone has experienced this? Would this be covered by warranty? Thanks!

    first revision

Many thanks for the quick reply! The manual mentions VSR as an orientative reference point. I don't understand what the service book says, it's in German :( In brief, it appears I can go with the German dealer and not lose on the warranty.

    first revision

Hi, Could you please help me with this question? When do you need to do the first revision? The Honda dealer who sold me the car in Switzerland said it's due when computer says it (in my case at ~15500 km). Another Honda dealer in Germany said to forget about the computer, it should be done...

    Clutch Issue

Yes, Hondas are better than Peugeot. There are some things they struggle to get it right. Clutch is one of them. It doesn't matter if it's because cost cutting or just borderline bad engineering. This said, I enjoy my Accord and I would only change it for an Audi A4 (if the German wouldn't be so...

    Clutch Issue

Sorry guys, I'm not buying into: "Honda is a reliable brand, hence you won't have any problems". Having owned a Civic before, I know there can be problems. Granted, it never let me stranded on a motorway, but you expect better from a badge like Honda. Suspension creaking and bad clutch are...
