    Paul J Smith Detailing - FD2 Civic Type R

Work of art! If only you were local to me.

    Just got myself a bargain!

Alright if you like that kinda thing I suppose. I'm not too fussed about making my car rattle on the streets with my latest Drum&Bass fusion remix. I use a Sony GT-410U that i've had in four different cars now, can't complain (plus I got it for an even more insane price off eBay a good 5...

    Just got myself a bargain!

Quite rare to see a head unit with both CD AND Bluetooth. Not a bad price at all, pitty I don't need one (plus i'm not a fan of 'flashy' head units which most of them seem to be these days especially in the night).

    Adding to the collection..

Not sure if it's possible but if you can, check the condition of the bulkhead. If not, atleast look at the underside of the car for any excess rust on anything structural. Mine's nearly done 100k and (the floorpan atleast) is still mint. Other issues are clutch cylinders. Put the car into...

    Hesitant / kangarooing acceleration

Have you actually driven it since the service? You might have just fixed it by doing all that work, you pretty much did exactly what i'd try to be fair and you have exactly the same car as me. Also do you have/had any warning lights on the dash?

    Some questions about my accord

Welcome, firstly I cant really say for sure but my Accord runs fine in 5th at 30MPH. RPM in that gear is around 1500 IIRC, maybe slightly less. For your caps, i've no idea but i'd strongly avoid Honda directly. They will probably ask something daft like £100+ for one. They can be had on eBay, I...

    High beam

I second that. Lasts longer than the NightBrakers and provide more light and a 'whiter' burn too. I would get them for the dipped and high if you can.

Clicking from aux belt 2.4 ex auto!

Not always, wear on the belt can cause the rattle since the belt is uneven (thus the momentum pushes the wheel(s) left and right as it goes round). This happened to my Primera (first car) and belts fixed it. Be sure that the pulleys are all tightened up to the correct torque settings and...

Accord bits - putting intake back to stock and valve clearances

Welcome Jim. Your best bet is the brakers. Might be worth trawling the Yellows and ringing if anyone local (to you) has one, or alternatively you can look at some of the "breaking" Accord's on eBay. Generally there's always 1 or 2 TR's on there being broken up. Best of luck and hope you can get...

Pre-facelift sport/atr lip kits fit facelift?

Not sure if they have lip kits but sice the bumpers are different shapes and designs my guess would be "no", hopefully someone here can give you a better answer. Though I am fairly certain that the bumpers are fully interchangeable pre and post facelift and it shouldn't be too difficult to get...

    Just bought another one !

Nope, no idea what Honda was thinking (same story for the S2000 too)! Though IIRC I think they just used the stereo's clock. Just get an after market unit and job's a goodun'. I looked into swapping the storage area for a clock from the older car but I couldnt find the wiring to power it so I...

    Windscreen trim

If it's windscreen stuff, i'd seriously think twice about doing jobs yourself unless you are 100% sure you can do it. I'd ring about the chip then follow up on the other issues and see what they would be willing to cover. If you been with them for a while you could play the customer loyalty card...

    Cig. lighter illumination

Yup, mine was broken (probably a chain smoker judging by the state of it!). I just prised the centre console appart and pulled it out. I got a new aftermarket amber replacement off eBay that came with the lighter and the bulb housing all pre installed. Was fairly easy to fit but I had to sand...

    Accord Noise

If you have some WD-40 or GT85 (or something similar), try spraying it on the belt and see if the noise is till there. My first car did this and the noise suddenly went away (only to come back a few miles later), showing that it was the belts wearing out causing play in the pulleys thus the...

Upgrading the brakes on a 1.8 which to go for?

Calipers might do, what about the discs? Or do the standard 4 pot ones fit? If so then go for it I guess.

    windscreen washers

I used a thing drawing pin to adjust mine but IIRC they were metal jets in a plastic housing. If they are plastic, it should work just don't go mad with it.

    Accord Noise

A bit hard to tell with a recording of a Diesel clatter but have you had the Aux belts replaced anytime soon?

Headlight Upgrade ? Angle ? USA model fitment

Not to mention American Accord's are completely different so they won't fit anyway, not to mention even if they did, you'd blind oncoming traffic.

Upgrading the brakes on a 1.8 which to go for?

No you would need the ATR axels too. I'd just get decent quality discs and pads from EBC, can;t say I ever had stopping issues with my Accord and I have no idea what were on that.
