Hi folks.
My clutch is giving me a bad headache, and i'm hoping some genius mech/tech guru can help out.
Basically the other night i depressed the clutch and engaged reverse gear and without moving the clutch pedal the car started to reverse, I thought i was going nuts and proceeded to drive off. at the next junction I stopped and selected 1st gear the same thing happened and the clutch pedal stayed at the floor with the car driving(hastly pulled up with my foot). This problem only seemed to happen in first and reverse gear although the pedal does now stick down occasionally when testing it.
I bled the system and replaced the fluid as what was in the reservoir was blackish in colour, this didn't sort the problem out. Has any other member had a similar problem, and do you think our guess at the master cylinder is right.
As a side note I ordered an OEM part and was advised that the design of the master cylider changed slightly for the 2002 model requiring new pipework, I enquired with localish Honda garage and the quoted over £300 for new pipework but said they were'nt aware of any design change.
Now very confused and hoping the the OEM part will fit and sort the problem out without a major overhaul of the pipework.
Any advice or ideas would be gratefully recieved
