Hiya, I've a 2004 honda accord cdti that I'm just repairing the turbo on and welding up the cracked exhaust manifold, whilst its stripped I've noticed it has 2 cats in the exhaust, no DPF just 2 regular cats.
Has anyone removed these before to gain a little more free flow in the exhaust or will it play havoc with the ecu?
Any feedback or experiences then I'd love to know!
Cheers Martin

Isn't the concept of 'freeing flow' reserved more for normally aspirated engines? Unless the cat was damaged..I'd personally leave it be..

Martin as per my PM reply to you, don't remove the cats.. the turbo relies on some backpressure and by derestricting it you will essentially cause it to work harder under normal driving conditions and reduce its life.
