2004 honda accord 2.2 ctdi, a few problems:

vibration when accelerating between 50-60 but goes away after 60?

There is a crunch when i go into first gear but if i hold my foot on the clutch a few seconds i dont get the crunch. it will alway crunch into first when im moving also the clutch pedal sometimes sticks to the ground and the pedal feels poor, but there are no leaks at master or slave cyclinder and the release arm seems to be moving ok. what could be the problem. poor pressure plate?

Welcome to TA fella as Shabz said.As for your vibration check the simple things first like wheel balance.

sorry guys, im from northern ireland drive black 2.2 ctdi accord, full leather, 96k. do most of my mechanical work myself but i am really confused with this, help would be much appreciated :D

It's not necessary that both the vibration and crunching problems are related.

Change your clutch fluid first and ensure there are no air leaks into the system as that will explain the poor pedal feel. The crunching is possibly related to that, but also I would change your transmission fluid for some fresh Honda MTF3 - these gearboxes feel very different after a fluid change.

As for vibration, could be anything from bad tyre pressures, bad/buckled rim or warped tyre.. balancing etc. Or it may be the dreaded driveshaft inner worn which a few members have experienced..

Worst case, it could even be a warped DMF causing the vibration.

cheers, i will change my gearbox oil and clutch fuild and ill let you know how i get on, :D

That should sort it fella make sure the fluid is bled properly.

The gear crunch / sticky ness 'should' be down to old clutch fluid as the others have stated. it might also be worth a trip to a good local dealer for them to adjust the switches on the clutch pedal as it may not be set correctly.

Correct me if im wrong but quite a few people at the HH meet when i attended got their clutch pedal sorted.

changed the clutch fluid and bled it and also changed the gearbox oil, i used honda mtf 3. car still crunches in to first, however there is a very noticeable improvement in the general feel of the gearbox. could it be the syncro or pressure plate?

oh forgot to mention, i think the ds driveshaft is the cause of the vibration. in the middle of the shaft there is a joint and there is excessive movement in it. cheers for the advice F6HAD :D

Hi I'm James
I'm having this exact problem with my 2.2 CDti gear selection. Did your issue turn out to be hydraulic issue or a clutch replacement?
Thanks
