Hi, guys,
Recently I have changed the maf and the car is now driving really good, but the only remaining problem I have is the imrc. It acts erratically sometimes and my car makes a bit of a black smoke. The suspected faults are present p2004 and p2017. The solenoid is notorious for its failure and I don't want to spend time and money on the same broken part. I have been thinking about putting another solenoid on this place /for example the same as the turbo boost control solenoid/. I can find it pretty cheap from a scrap yard. Then I can make the one hose longer and change the connector. I don't see any reason why won't this work. It is just a vacuum valve with two wires. When you apply voltage it opens and vice versa. What do you think? Hasn't anybody tried this?
