Hi all
First visit here, bought an 09 plate accord tourer in May, just over 100k on it.
Had DPF issues early doors so had a new one fitted under warranty. Have done about 4000 miles since and today after driving for 10 mins on urban roads I hit a bit of traffic.
Spent 10 mins basically idling and then noticed plumes of blue/white smoke coming out of the exhaust at idle. Seemed to go greyish when we moved.
Started moving and got home 5 mins later and all was clear again. Any ideas if this is an early warning of something more serious.
It's my first honda and I love it, especially on long journeys.
I have also noticed a vibration when accelerating in 3rd gear, could this be the DMF on the way out ?

It could just have been regenerating before you hit traffic and the residual fuel from the process was clearing out.

Vibration likely to be wheel balancing, buckled wheel, knackered driveshaft or yes the flywheel

Thanks for the info. Will keep an eye on it.
The vibration is definitely not wheel Balancing. Praying it's not the flywheel !

The white smoke have nothing to do with the fuel when the engine is hot...When is cold it might be unburned fuel bit when hot it gets black in diesel engines so when the DPF is regenerating you can notice a very hot exhaust gases from the pipe and a strong smell of burning process ( the dash signal light should turn on when regenerating ).
There are two things that can cause white/bluish smoke from the exhaust
1. Oil burning in combustion camber
2. Cooling liquid burning in combustion camber
Take a look on the levels of both liquids
If i udnerstand well the vibrations you described are not raising with speed but only with accelerating/load raising...The DMF could be one option but i dubt about it. Time ago i worked on an Audi A4 1.9 TDI with the same exact problem and at the end was the driveshaft joint's which have become hard because of age/milage like said F6HAD in the previous post

Hope it's helpful
