was driving to work this morning when the engine light came on and the revs dropped, had to pull over straight away this was on the motorway.
it drives fine no noises no coolant loss or oil, got it home now so going to take it to the garage when they open.
it is due a service could this be the problem? i have drove it for a week no bother and it has 60k from new plus i only picked it up thursday so have i been had over???

thanks in advance and sorry if this has been asked before, i just need some quick answers cheers

When was oil, fuel filter, ai filter and spark plugs last changed?

With such a prominent issue i would try and sort this out asap without drving the car.
I cant help too much though as im a sooty owner ;)

Well its last stamp was 10k ago  ive booked it in for saturday but im gunna try and get it done today with a bit of luck!
where is the fuel filter located? im gutted really as ive had to take the day off work hope the service sorts it!
thanks

It's going to be a sensor of some sort and nothing a service will solve unfortunately. It could be as simple as a oxygen sensor although I am not sure if that would trigger limp mode. it would certainly trigger the EML but I am not sure about limp mode.?

Best thing to do mate is get the code read.

try not to worry about it as I am sure it is just sensor related..

Manky oil clogging the vtec solonoid? used to happen on older b-series engines anyway. You've definitely got the proper amount of oil in the sump yeah? Lack of oil quantity can lead to a lack of oil pressure which could trigger the CEL too. Best to get it scanned asap so you know what you're dealing with

As Neal said its something simple just get the code read and take the guess work out.

My O2 sensor went. EML came on, but could still rag the granny out of it ;) . I doubt it's O2 sensor. Don't often hear of the Petrol in limp mode. Check the oil and oil filter like the guys say.

Cheers glad to see your a helpfull bunch unlike some forums, I had the code deleted it was rocker cover oil pressue or something? its been serviced and pulls better than ever too :)! While it was on the ramp I checked underneath to see it was all straght and origional, although the bushes look a little worn which would explain the tram lining and soggyness when on motorways but after lookin on here is a common problem! Other than that I'm really happy with it.

Glad you got it sorted mate.

The 2.0 really is a very reliable lump and you should see starship mileage if you look after it.

The lower ball joints are the usual suspects on the front suspension but don't cost a lot to put right. Don't let any garage bully you in to buying a whole suspension arm as all the bushes are replaceable for not much money.
The Accord is a little twitchy at speed though mate if i am honest.
