7PK1784 / 5 should fit fine as it does with mine. Make sure the mechanic is following the correct routing with the extra pully removed.

hi mate, i have a mk7 2007 i-cdti, dont have a pully to remove? am i correct in saying that the facelift models didn't come with the guide pulley? and it was only on older models

thanks for the reply, yea i thought that, i got the car with 125k on it so maybe. still got noise though
