Hi all
This happened yesterday, engine light came on, revs sat at 1000, but no accelerator control, and gears seemed not respond. Had to coast to a safe stop.
AA came out and did the Bosch plug in test, fault codes as above ***le.
AA guy quoted accelerator and throttle sensors were not communicating properly, thus giving limp mode function, could be faulty sensors. He cleared the code and we were able to get home slowly.
Same thing happened 1 mile from home, but managed to restart and finally get home.
Ironic thing is, the had been feeling lumpy for the past week at around 40mph in 4th or 5th gear.
AA bloke also said that it could be from dirty throttle body.

Anybody had similar experience or offer advice, I will be contacting Honda dealership where I bought the car from, still under warranty, for date to sort out issue.

The reason why I am asking on here is just incase there are any hidden issues that may have caused the limp mode to happen.
In relation to the dirty throttle body, could this be caused by fuel cleaning product like Redex?

Your thoughts please guys, thanks.

Never heard of this before but because your car is under warranty it should be fine.

Redex will not cause that in my experience.

See what the dealer says and please do feedback. Hope you get it sorted

Ok,
Car is booked in for tomorrow, once I get the feedback from garage I will update for member reference purposes

Update

Picked up the car this afternoon 2.00pm. They carried out a check and replaced the sensors on the accelerator and throttle. So AA was correct with the roadside diagnostic.
So everything now ok.

Yes have heard of this and it's fairly common, it's the accelerator pedal position sensor that goes faulty. Search the forum a few people have had it now
