ABS, VSA and that triangle thingy!

Hi all,

So for this week's problem my car has selected a rather "dashing" (pun intended) Christmas tree effect on the dashboard! Not satisfied with the DMF and clutch or the Timing chain it seems the old girl still fancies some more new bits....

While driving back from the HH garage last week the three lights came on (ABS, VSA, Triangle) and stayed on. Now i stopped off at Chiswick Honda and they relieved me of £60 to tell me it was the passenger rear sensor that was at fault. So I have ordered one and it arrives tomorrow but here's my problem.....

How do i reset the lights as they dont show up on my hand held scanner :(

Does anyone know of a way? I really dont fancy going to Chiswick Honda again as they always act like they are doing you a favour by allowing you to pay them more than any other Honda garage.
 
Bloody heck, I wish you were closer - £60 for a diagnostic is crazy.

The good news is the lights will go out themselves once you replace the sensor, and the better news I guess is that it's just the sensor and not the modulator so you've got off lightly there. It always seems to be the NSR sensor too, was the same on my car.

Cheers Fahad, I will whack it in tomorrow then or whenever it arrives and will let you know how many pieces I manage to break the original into when i try to remove it :)

Use a drill bit and be careful not to hit the inside of the hub. Not as hard as it seems once you start it.
 
If it goes properly wrong I can always remove the hub i spose...I just hope it doesnt come to that ;)

Yessssssssssssssssssssss! did it!

I had to remove the hub to get all the bits out that fell into it but it was worth it. The lights didnt go off immediately but after a short drive down the driveway they went out.

Good stuff, removing the hub is the proper way to do it if seized.
