Hi yesterday took my bumper and headlight out after following the advise on here to remove abs pump to send to ecu testing.
in my rush i dont think i made note of what order the brake lines go back in , do they have to be connected to the same positions ie left of unit or right of unit or can they be swaped over.

if they have to be postitioned correctly any one got any pics of a refrence where i can see what brake line gos to what port

thanks

Dave

I've never removed an ABS modulator but at a guess i would think it's imperative they go back on the correct connectors. Afterall the pressure sensors will be sending pulses to a particular wheel depending on what the ABS ECU is telling it at the time i.e. for VSA or ABS emergency requirements.. You wouldn't it trying to stop the wrong wheel in a skid or slide?

I'm not sure, but you may be able to work it out from this?

There are other diagrams on the Lings website - www.hondaoriginalparts.com

Just to confirm that it is essential the brake lines are re-fitted to the ABS unit in their original position. If I get time later I'll take a photo of mine and post it.

Hi well ecu testing have just phoned the unit is beyond repair so i need to source another one can i fit any vsa pump from 7 gen accords , or does the codes have to m atch
any body no where to find one thanks

There are about 6 or 7 different vsa module codes which went on the diesels. You would need to find one which has a matching code to your one.

Thats what ecu testing says but reading on the forum here it seems some people have bought ones from breakers and fitted them , as the parts would have been modified on later modules but still fit
finding an exact match is going to be diffacult

Actually now that I've got to grips with the Honda HDS system and most of it's functions, I'm pretty sure you can recalibrate one unit to another car - much the same as you could with second hand injectors.

Of course try and source one from the same or near year, but if you can't I think I can recalibrate one to work with your car.

Hi fitted a abs module i got from ebat today result light gone out just neeed to bleed brakes tomorrow

tanks to everyone on here who helped with the advise

Hi Dave,

that's great news. can you shed any light on whether it was the same part number or not and whether you needed any calibrations? Also did you put the brake lines back in the rigth sequence etc?

Hi not it was a earlier version of my pump my pump was a 57110-seg5-e551 ebay pump was a 57110-seg-541
no calabration neeeded i first of all just mounted it with out connecting brake lines to test if it works. light gos out on start up checks press button comes on .
i connected the brake lines in the right order i had marked some *** the right side and the rest i followed the diagram of lings , but they mostly fitted where they were supposed too.

I did find connecting the brake lines on to the pump quite hard they just would not start threading thats why i have to bleed if neded today.

Thanks for your help and advide saved quite a bit of money , Got the pump of ebay for £100 from a breakers in bournmouth.

Dave - that's great mate, thanks and clears up some confusion regarding having to use the same part numbers.

Hi not finished yet , tried bleeding the brakes and no fluid came out initally on drivers wheel , then i tightened it all up again pressed pedal and a little came out with air then nothing .

tried the pasanger side next diddnt get a chance to try the bleed nipple sheared of in my socket so im left with a little of the bleed nipple in the calliper and the the rest in the socket

can someone help me out reguarding the bleed process im doing this on my own , using the one man bleed kit just no fluid or air escaping .

also how do u replace the bleed nipple im guessing u would have to drill out but then would u not need to re tap a thread for a new one sorry learning as i go along

Oh man what a hassle..

I can't remember the sequence but you normally start furthest wheel first and work your way back. Also, if you're using an eazibleed type device have you got the proper cap for the fluid reservoir, because I know a lot of people struggled with the universal caps not holding enough pressure on the system to force the fluid and air out.

Might be a job for the garage or with the help of a friend to pump the pedal while you bleed.

Regarding the bleed nipple, you might have to take the caliper off the car and yes try and drill/tap out.

Get some pics up as you go along if poss.

yes will try take some pics, i am using the one man method think i will replace the caliper i think easier dont have a tap sie set,
when i was attching brake hoses to the abs module one was not quite tight so fluid seeped out i got it tight but i dont no if that affected the air in the system
