accord 2.2
Hello.
Please anybody can help me, I have problem with my air conditioning on Accord 2.2 i dtec 2009. Yesterday i got recharged my A/C. But sadly after recharge my A/C still doesnt work, when i turn on ac revs rise a bit and ventilators turns on, but ac clutch not engage. I have read forum about A/C problems but every post with photos are old and i cant see photos. I have checked all fuses and swaped relay but no change. Any tips? sorry for my english.

could be ac clutch to compressor take some measurements no point guessing can be costly

hello. I have replaced ac compressor because it was seized. after replacing everything works compresor spins, ventilators spins but no cold air . also pipes both pipes are hot, one should be cold. Ac is filled with 475g freon and 20ml pag oil. condenser nissens replaced in 2018. any help?

Sounds like too much pressure in the system. Perhaps there’s a blockage somewhere like the condenser, have you tried flushing it out? Does the fan kick in when the compressor engages?

My AC was flushed only with air and mechanic told me thats its free no blockage i dont know... I have bought yday AC receiver dier maybe its clogged. I cant find any good mechanic that find out the problem...

I’m no Aircon expert but these systems aren’t that complicated, once you understand what each component does. If the compressor is kicking in and so is the fan when you engage the aircon then that suggests both your pressure sensor and compressor are working, and there is sufficient gas in the system with no major leak. The fact both pipes are hot is what you probably need to investigate, something is stopping the gas from being pumped freely. Are there any kinks in the pipe work or a flange connection not sat correctly restricting the flow?

probably worth searching the net to see what might cause this, as someone on another forum (doesn’t have to be Honda) May have had the same issue

hello.
Yesterday I was at only AC repair shop. They tested it and said that high pressure is too big and low presure in vacuum -1 or something like that I dont remember sorry. They told me that expansion valve is problem 99%. They also told that valve isnt original, so valve is for other honda, or its faulty or clogged. They gonna replace expansion valve next week + flush pipes and replace ac receive drier.
Please owners of accord 2.2 i dtec can anyone post here photo of your original AC expansion valve, its next the shock mount. Thanks so much.

love that wiring

UPDATE: after fixing this wiring ac still didnt worked. So I have bought used expansion valve which is at the condenser and AC is now working.

Well done for fixing it

This is a good thread, MY AC stopped working this week as well, I took it to an AC specialist and he ran it through a Waeco AC system, which pressure tested it and removed all the old R134a and oil. pressure and vacuum tested it and then refilled it with 475g of gas and 27ml of oil.
When you first start the engine the compressor will kick in and then stop almost immediately. The AC guy said it must be electric and we tried pulling and swapping the two relays in the fuse box by the L/H shock mount but it made no difference.
I am not sure where to start with this now but will try to get the system looked at next week with a HDS unit at a honda garage and take it from there.
Is there a facility to do an onboard AC diagnostic like the 7th Gen had?

Check this thread on here from a few weeks ago me and another member got same error code on hds within a week of each other during the hot weather.

I've still to swap out my sensor yet though.
Ours is 8th gen bit maybe sort you out on your 7th gen

Mine is also an 8th Gen, I'll have a look when I get a chance to get under the car.

Any news on ya ac problem. I am also having problems, had a new compressor. And ive changed the control unit, (aircon buttons) in car, a specialist said there was a wire going to some bypass valve that was dead. Put a second hand unit in, as they said that was suspect. Still no cold air, seems the black pipe coming from compressor on low side is getting sucked closed

I have been way to busy to get on top of this at the moment, I have intermittent aircon, it seems to function well on Auto and cools the car OK with just me and an ambient temp of 17-19, but if switched from auto to manual control the instant you press ac on the dual temp displays on the screen disappear.
I am not exactly sure what this indicates, when I run the self diagnostic on it AC seems to be error free. Menu/Map and Cancel press and hold
Once I have some time I will get my Honda dealer to run a scan and see what shows up.
