Hi

Just been for a test drive in an accord cdti 2.2 . car was nice other than at 50-60 mph there was a tremendous wobble on the front end, worse when putting your foot down.

Just wondering if it is something common?

could be wheel balancing, but I have never felt that kind of wobbling from wheel balancing before, it was quite severe..

Could be balancing, flat spot on the tyre, but from what your are describing it also could be the drive-shafts. Not common par se, but does happen. If you clutch at say 60 and drop to 50 does the wobble disappear? i.e. is it only under drive?

I didn't clutch in, but took foot off accelerator and it was much less pronounced without the acceleration applied....

Sound like driveshafts so....

really bad driveshafts, really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really bad

Eric's (toffee_pie) driveshafts were like that when he bought his 2.4, I drove it after he bought itm and they were really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really bad

You mean to say the drive shafts were really bad then? :)

You feeling all right Brian  ?

much better than those driveshafts

I'm beginning to think that the car wasn't the only one with driveshaft issues

It's gonna cost you a fortune in counselling in a few years.

Well that's very true!

thanks for the heads up.

I looked into the driveshafts symptoms, and they were identical to what I had experienced. There seems to be a few people experiencing this problem, which is a bit of a worry

Found a couple of new driveshafts on ebay for £125 each, but I guess fitting them will be a problem. I remember a rover 600 I had a few years back, needed a cv boot replacing... I snapped my torque wrench trying to remove the centre bolt on the hub... gave up in the end and bought a 'glue on' cv boot..

thanks again
