Hello,

I've been having recent problems with my Honda Accord 2.2ictdi. It's a 2007 facelift model. I'm based in Europe if that changes anything cuz of the different models.

Car can idle what I ***ume is fine when for extended periods(max I had it on after the issues idle was 15 minutes). First time it happened is when I changed from third to second gear to make a turn and my car lost all power on that turn, it was smooth and I just felt my car had no power anymore and it didn't jerk or anything, just off in a second. It took 15 minutes for it to start again.

Second time I drove it the same exact day to test if it was just a false positive, and my car died the same way 3 times in a span of ~10km. Firstly it lost all power while going around 30km/h in a straight line, but it felt like it did a small jerk before it actually died so I knew it was gonna happen. It took me around 10 minutes of waiting and cranking it before it finally turned on and then it died 3km later and same story, I was going around 60km/h and my car lost all power and I didn't shift gears mind you. This time it cranked as well to no avail till approx 15~20minutes later. When the car finally started again I drove it for another 2km till I got home and the car died on the top of the incline to my house, but made it to the driveway.

Tl;dr of the events/symptoms:

- Car idles fine
- Car randomly losses all power and you just coast till you completely stop, sometimes a slight jerk occurs prior that
- The car always cranks after it dies but doesn't actually turn/start till at least 10~20mins have passed since it died
- Car shut off at random speeds, 30km/h, 60km/h, 20km/h, it's totally random
- It's totally random when it dies, but I've found out that at about every 2 to 3 km my car just lost all its power
- Car battery is fine, everything works expect it won't turn till it sits for a few minutes

Errors it threw in the past 6 months but never reappeared after that:

- Drove 150km, car parked, came back 2 hours later and got an EGR error saying it was stuck in some position, never occurred again and car ran fine
- 2 months went to a store 40km away from me, rainy, cark parked and come back 15 minutes later, car wouldn't start for 30minutes, car didn't do this ever since. Error was about the crankshaft sensor
- last time when my car died 4 times in 10km I got an IMCR error
- Never did the same error occur, and the last error disappeared from my car after a few days?

I wanted to change the crankshaft sensor. I got told since there was no error anymore to wait it out if it throws it again, which it never did. What I'm also suspecting is it might be an old fuel filter? I've owned my car since 3 years in which I've done roughly 40k km with, sure that needs to be changed ASAP as I don't know when it was last time it was changed prior owning it, but that still wouldn't explain why I gotten an error for crankshaft sensor, egr and imcr unless those are connected somehow.

If you need any more info please let me know.

You have a blocked intake and sticking egr valve. The other thing it might be is a bad fuel pressure relief valve but the fact you’ve had these errors points to the egr, I solve them regularly. Drop me a line if you want to discuss a remote option I might be able to offer.

Sorry, I totally forgot I ever made a post here because I've fixed my issue, or so I thought. My car died once more the same day, got it towed, issue with the crankshaft position sensor, had it replaced and the car worked fine since June...until a week ago. It threw me another IMCR error code and I think it needs a replacement? Car drove fine, randomly died at lower rpm, started right back up but threw the error. The car from what I've noticed doesn't seem to perform as it should,I SWEAR it doesn't run smooth at all, it's like it hesitates with "micro" jerks all around and the driving experience is more of a stutter than smooth sailing. I'm in the process of getting the IMCR changed but I honestly have 0 idea if that's even the cause now. If you're still available, let me know.

Yes that sounds very much like a sticking intake runner control issue, caused by egr soot build up in the intake.
