Hi All, I had my DMF replaced along with the clutch kit on Saturday but now it sounds quite rough under acceleration. I noticed it as soon as I sat in the car and drove it away from the garage, problem was their service department had then closed for the day so I drove it home hoping it would die down. It actually sounds like a tractor from inside when pulling away from traffic lights etc.

Has anyone who had the DMF and clutch done come across this before?

I'm thinking it should go back to the mechanic?

Lee where did you get the work done was it a main Honda dealer.

there must be something wrong, I didn't have anything like that after my clutch and dmf was changed in HH aswell.

Lee give them a call in the morning and get the car back to them

I will do, what could a DMF job have done to make the engine sound rough though? I could understand it if it was something happening with the gearbox or similar.

This car is killing me! I am losing my patience with it now :(

If HH done the Job it's prob a simple thing trust me.

It might be a loose bracket or engine top cover not mounted correctly. A new DMF would quieten things not make them louder mate.

I think its the manifold as the engine bay smells like exhaust fumes and around the front too. Could they have done anything to knock it? It was definitely not like that before :(

exhaust is blowing out, thats all.... they probably didn`t do up the coupling properly

don`t worry )

Bring it back to them, it's the only way to settle your concerns about it

So the car has been dropped off this Saturday and I have been given a Civic to drive until they call me with the news. I am very interested to hear the outcome.

I'll keep you all posted.

just got new that one of the injector seals have gone. Does that sound like it could cause these symptoms:

Engine rattle increase
power loss
diesel fumes
engine note change

I hope it is such a simple thing.

Yep it would cause exactly all four of those things. It's simple... as long as the injector comes out alright.

We're working on a 2006 BMW 330D in Captain's garage at the moment to do a DPF Delete. We worked out that getting the DPF out would be easier from above, but this involves removing the inlet and rocker cover.. and of course all 6 injectors. 4 of them came out no problem... 2 have been jammed since last night! We have to build a tool to remove it, and looking on YouTube people are using some whacky ways of removing it:

I'll start a new thread once we're completely done with it and put some pics up of the results. Once I've tuned it, I'm expecting it to be a proper beast of a motor B)

Well, I got it back today and it was running perfect!

Thanks to the HH guys for finding and fixing tht one.

However, I got 10 mins outside London and the VSA, Airbag and Triangle with the exclamation mark came on.....

Chiswick honda point to a faulty speed sensor in the rear left wheel. I know there is a rear wheel bearing needing replacing currently so do you think it could be related?

I should retitle this thread to "worst Honda Accord in history" ......terrible.

Wow you're having a really bad run of luck with this car aren't you mate..

With all the trouble you're having it's still driving isn't it :D Honda FTW ;)

I think some cars are just jinxed. Fingers crossed you get some enjoyment out of it now!

Lee iv seen hear ICTDI Accords with one thing after another go wrong and then others that has not had many problems at all.
Its just luck with lots of cars i think and also due to the service history of previous owners.

Yeah i know, I think part of me is too stubborn to let it go so I am determined to get it up to full strength. I really hope this is it though as the sod could bankrupt me at this rate L

Im half thinking to send a light hearted letter to Honda telling them of my experiences with their machine and asking for a medal of some sort.

In fact, that’s what I am going to do!

I’ll send it this weekend and see if they reply

I'm sure your gold plated Honda 'H' medallion will be in the post by the bank holiday weekend
