So first warm day of the year and the air conditioning just stopped working.

When I turn on the AC, there is so sound of it turning on, the revs don't drop and the conpressor clutch doesn't do anything.

I've tested the relays by swapping out the horn relay and they all work so no issue there. I've checked fuses and there's no issue there either. The air con was working and blowing out reasonably cold air. Does it have an auto shut off when the air con coolant gets too low or should I still hear the AC kick in? I've read previous threads however they're old so photos don't work any more.

Yep if it’s lost gas then the pressure sensor will not allow the system to run. Have your gas checked first, if it’s lost some then investigate where the leak is.

Hi,

New member, first post so apologies if this is in the wrong place

A/C on my 8th Gen iDtec is not working, gas is fine checked and held vacuum and was refilled, clutch not pulling in on compressor, no power getting to the compressor via the single red/yel cable, relays checked and swaped around to confirm operation, fuses in engine bay and under dash all good.

I suspect clutch as seized as the car is not used for periods of 6-8 weeks so I intend popping it of and seeing if its all free, access looks reasonable via R/H wheel arch.

Also need to check pressure switch and I understand from reading Freddofrogs posts there is an in built diagnostic on this car, can anyone advise on how this can be accessed please and if theres a list of the fault codes to.

Any other guidance gratefully recevied as apart from this its a cracking car !

Thanks.

Mines been diagnosed as a dodgy pressure switch but as honda are currently closed I can't get the part.

was this diagnosed by the in built diagnosis set up which I'm trying to access of did the dealers take a look..?

AC specialist. I tried an OBD but couldn't see it.

Will the gases come out if the pressure sensor is removed? Should the system be cleared first?

My Accord has same symptoms as described before and self diagnostic shows the pressure sensor failure.

Yes if you remove the pressure sensor, the gas will escape.
