First of all I hope you guys had a great Christmas

Just looked at the last service my car has had which was in June this year. It was done by Honda Brayley and states "Aircon condensor corroded". Not sure whether this needs to be replaced or whether that can be fixed.

There was also "lower arm bushes" worn (front), which needs replacing.

Hope someone can shed some light into this issue.

Looks like I have quite a few things to replace: Aircon condensor, lower arm bushes, front discs, front pads, rear tyres

Regards,

Mo

When they say the air con condenser is corroded do they just mean surface corrosion? If so and the air con is still working I wouldn't bother. They're not a cheap part to replace (especially from any main dealer) so personally I would leave it until if or when it fails. It may have just been an over zealous technician doing the service and listed something that's not necessarily a problem.

If the front pads needed changing 6 months ago I'd expect these to be near bare metal by now. You can visually inspect the front pads yourself to see how much pad you have left and see if they warrant changing. You can do a disc and pad change yourself its quite straight forward, plenty of guides on here.

Tyres you can judge for yourself, just look for the depth gauge in the tread.

Are all these items you list things which need to be done or just recommendations? Lower arm bushes are an MOT item. Things such as lower arm bushes may get a recommendation off a dealership because the technician has seen a tiny crack in the rubber, but may still be well within tolerances for an MOT. Obviously if the bushes are already affecting driving performance then get them changed. But it should be a fairly easy item to replace.

The point I'm trying to make is are Honda Brayley just trying to give themselves work by listing items such as air con condenser corroded and worn lower arm bushes, items which are suffering normal wear and tear, or are they items which genuinely need attention.

To be honest , when I used the a/c few months back I didn't notice anything different. I'm not sure what to expect with the lower arm bushes, the car drives ok with no problems.
Not really confident on replacing the discs and pads so might get a local mechanic to do that.

Mo - Doc has summed it up perfectly, don't waste money bro.
