After 2.5 years of faultless motoring the Accord blotted its copy book today and the alternator has given up.
Rather than pay somebody else to replace it I've decided to send it off to be reconditioned. Trouble is, I can't access the last bolt to remove it.
I've checked this previous thread here and it's the lower bolt that I'm having trouble with. I can get a 12mm combination spanner on it, but I can't put enough leverage through it. I've tried a ratchet too, but there is literally just 10 degrees of angle to rotate through which isn't enough to get it started, i.e it needs more than 10 degrees to "crack".
Has anybody else had any luck with any other methods? Honda reckon this job would take them 0.6hrs which I just can't believe given how fiddly it is.
