Accord VTEC 2005 Exe
Recently took my Honda Accord 2005 VTEC Exec A to a main Honda Dealer in Buckinghamshire for a "Health Check". They quoted circa £3000 just to get it through its MOT and goes up to £5000 to keep it on the road for 6 to 12 months ? Does anyone know good Honda or Japanese Car garages where i could get a quote for the list of jobs that need to be done ? Currently considering scrapping in light of my poor knowledge ? Key areas of work include, new exhaust, NSR anti roll bar worn, both front compliance bushes broken, front and back brakes 95% worn, oil leak from top of engine, power steering fluid pipe leaking, 4 new tyres, bonnet release handle broken, OSR wheel bearing failed/noisy, rear headlight levelling arm seized plus other non-critical recommendations. It has a mileage of 154,000.

I think your first problem is that you took it to Honda. All these are DIY jobs, and even if not, just find a decent local garage and get a second opinion and quote. They’re not difficult cars to work on.

Thank you for your advice
