Is that the same as the ECM? found whilst cleaning under bonnet, has a strange attachment will photo it tomorrow.

All resolved! spoke to previous owner, " I can explain that, it was caused by MICE there have been no modifications done and no accident damage, just micelisouse chewing"

Yes that's the same as the ecm. It does look like at least the clips for the wiring loom have been removed and the wiring taped up at some point.
