Hi all
Having paid to have the oil pump and timing chain replaced on my tourer, she threw a big end within 800miles. Was always a gamble following the oil pump chain breakage, no matter how quick it was switched off.
Anyway, her replacement has been purchased for peanuts, 158k on clock, timing and oil pump chains done 40k ago
but does have some issues that I need to get on top off.
First off the tailgate wouldn't open remotely, would close ok though, no obvious misalignment or stiction when opened manually. A bit of penetrating fluid followed by some spray grease up into the actuator has cured that problem, for now.
Second issue, bad vibration under load at 60-75 then disappears. If I'd have known at the point of purchase, I may have walked away. Moral......always do a high and low speed test drive!!!! Seeing as I still have the old Tourer (which didn't have vibration) both driveshafts will be transfered to the new Tourer. Can't see this being DMF as it's road speed related, not RPM related.
Now to the last issue, which I need some advice on. None of the front speakers work. Initially I thought this was due to a dodgy bluetooth install, so ripped the lot out (it was a mess) still no working front speakers though! So I pulled the complete dash unit out of the old Tourer put it in the new one, still nothing!!!!
So, I have a question. Is the amplifier for all the speakers integral to the CD/headunit/ centre console thing, or is it located elsewhere? I've tested the door speakers, so it's not them, I've changed the whole centre console for a known good one, it wasn't that, a remote amplifier is all I can think of?
Anyone got a wiring diagram???
Cheers
Robin
