I know this has been mentioned in the past, but wanted to give my experience on it.

I brought a 'New' DVD from an online company claiming to sell sat nav DVD's for £35, not bad compared to Honda

All was well for a few months, then I started getting 'DVD read error'. Looking on here I was thinking I needed to send the unit off to Alpine for a £200 repair

I thought I would just try the old DVD to see what happened....Well it worked perfectly!

So beware of spending out on cheap DVD's, this one is so obviously a copy (How do they get away with the copy write issues?)

Anyone want a 2010 DVD going cheap? Its a genuine fake!

Some more proof for our other dat nav thread.

Sorry you're having problems.

This provs the point that buy genuine only thanks for the feedback Chris

It's probably a slightly weak laser in your headunit Chris - I don't have satnav in mine but its seem to be fairly common.

Had the same error come up every time i started the car for about 3 months. Tried a lens cleaner disk, ran it through 5 or 6 times, worked a treat. Works everytime now...
