Car Alarm will not stop going off

So about 5 months ago i bought a Honda Accord Tourer Mk7 2.0 petrol for my first car. It's been absolutely brilliant up until about 2 weeks or so ago. We had a bought of horrific rain here in the UK, and since then, the car alarm seems to go off at will. Sometimes it'll go off 10 times in an hour, and then maybe not go off again for another 6 hours. Who knows, it's starting to feel like she's possessed.

I do however think I have an incling as to what the problem might be. When she is turned on, the light on the dashboard for the boot flickers on and off randomly, saying its open. Sometimes rapidly, sometimes sporadic.

So my guess would be that there is a faulty sensor somewhere that's tripping out? And causing the car to think someone's trying to open the boot, therefore setting off the alarm?

Honestly though, I don't have a clue. You'll have to excuse my ignorance. I've only recently acquired my license and I'm learning as I'm going. You may have to talk to me like I'm stupid. Haha.

As it is a Tourer, does it have the standard roof rack, an after market one, or none (like mine ) ?

If you can get it on a Honda hds system it will show which sensor triggered the last few alarm events. Often it’s the bonnet sensor which you can just disconnect. You can book with me if you’re local to the north of England.
