Just wondered if anyone has done what im going to try?

I have an alpine IDA-X100, KCE 250BT (bluetooth adaptor), 2no 12 " subs and a 1000w monoblock amp.

The plan is to install the ida x100 underneath the std Accord headunit. and connect it to the std unit via an xcarlink using the ida-x100's pre-outs.

This way i can use the ida's media functions (usb, Bluetooth, Ipod) and connect the subs to it as well. Also as the IDA does'nt have a cd player i will still have the std units one.
And i can still control the sound via the wheel controls.

If the quality is poor due to the carlink i may setup some sort of a relay so i can switch between the speaker output on the units via a switch.

Let me know what you think.

Nice idea however you could run the risk of overloading the xcarlink maybe ?

Good point.

Will have to try it i suppose. Its gonna be a bit of trial and error at the start.

sounds like a audio project and a half this one. If you are successful put up pictures of how you did this, As I kept mine all stock on the 7th gen as the alternatives looked ugly, 6th gen I went to town on. lol

Not 100% what you mean. The Alpine thing's a Bluetooth receiver right? You're then going to put this through the line in on your XCarlink for the audio yes? I don't see any issues here.

But what does that have to do with subs? Am I missing something? I see them as two separate entities. The amp for the subs will take its audio feed from the output of the head unit and then onto the subs themselves.

I.e:

- Head Unit Audio Out goes to speakers as normal
- A left/right feed is also "hijacked" (or a spare left/right feed is utilised) and sent to the monoblock amp that powers the subs
- Monoblock amp drives the subs and you have phat bass B)

So far, this is all output related, whereas the bluetooth interface is all input related as it's taking your mobile phone signal and feeding it into the head unit (via the XCarlink) so that you can hear the person on the phone talking.

But whatever, it sounds like a good plan and should work fine if done like this. And yes, pictures please ;) .

I have sort of done a similar thing. I got 2 alpine type r subs (the newer ones) and a alpine pdx1.1000 amp! I also have a power capacitor and a huge ANL fuse holder! I have a switch that looks OEM next to my headlight adjusting switch, just took a blank one out and modified it! Anyways I removed the headunit and installed a RCA converter due to the non existent ones on the original head unit! Oh and I have an iPod and aux cable that I can plug my phone etc into and the sound quality is actually pretty good, members from the meet can back me up :)! That is not everything but I don't have time atmo to do a full write up mate if your interested PM me! Good luck
