Car
accord 8th gen
i spent the hole day fitting my new rear view camera and my pioneer double din navi. along the way at startet the car 3-4 times and everything was working. when i was finished with fitting all the stuff i then try to start my car but it wont start. the starter is working and you can hear how its trying but nothing. i tried with some cables maybe the battery was dead but the same thing. the starter is running but nothing. i have swapped everything back to standard in hopes of the starting but still nothing.

the starter i running but it wont start. none of the dashbord ligth start exept the green ligth for the ligth. headunit wont start after i returned it it need a code.

can somebody tell me what it is. anyone tried the same.

if you didn't disconnect the battery when you were doing the work, you may have damaged one of the modules, such as the MICU or the Gauge Control module

I would reinstate everything back to its original setup and see if that allows the car to start and then take it from there

everything is set back to normal.

it stil won´t start. i have tested it with a obd tool and it says 2 error codes both UO155

almost every fuse under the steering wheel dont have contact. tryed to put some new fuses in but stil the same.

U0155 indicates loose connections to the Gauge Control module, and/or faulty Gauge Control module

if you didn't disconnect the battery when you were doing the work then you've probably killed the Gauge Control module

I would suggest getting a good auto electrician to test for continuity now but if the connections are good then I would agree, you've killed the GCM

Micko is discussing this also on HK. Sounds like the MICU maybe shorted out, which is why the car wont start. He is taking it to Honda to have it tested.

No there's no issue as far as I'm concerned. I hope you get it sorted mate, there's nothing worse than the stress of diagnosing a car that won't start.

Is there a problem with that.
we're not bothered on here, no idea about HK.

You're not the first and won't be the last, it's just kind of ironic when it happens, and it's always interesting to read the different approaches in the two forums.

for those that are not following the tread at HK :)

the car went to honda and they testet it and its the fusebox that is fried. a new one is 550 pund. i found a used one in sweden for 100 pund that i have ordered then we will se if it fit. the technician say it should fit even though it didn´t have the same part number.

Nice one mate, glad it's fixed.

the car is fixed and is driving lovely again. sorry for the long wait.

Glad to hear its fixed.

Be interested to see how you get on with the autobox fluid change, as mines needs doing soon. Had a look at the weekend and the filler cap is right under the battery and the ECU,

Looks a pain to access, or maybe a bottle of fluid with a flexi hose would do it?

Honda want £75 to do it, not too bad, as the DW1 fluid is almost £30 itself.

i have ordered 8 liters dw1 from coxmotorparts. i will be changing it 3 times.

At my work we have a garage avaible 24/7 with 3 lifts and one detailing place. so it will be easyer for me then if i have to do it with a normal jack.

i will be changing the fluid/oil on the 15th.

there will be a diy on either the karma site or here. but to be fair its more easy to post photos on karma.

Excellent mate, look forward to seeing it. Will be a world first, I don't think anyone has done a DIY on this yet on the 8th gen 2.0.

Take some good pics of the drain plug and the fill hole. Watch the plastic under tray. Its best to order a few spare clips, as they tend to break when they get old.

That will be a proper flush, so your box will work like a dream afterwards. To be fair, mine is on 76k miles, it still changes smoothly and the paddles are responsive, its only maybe a little bit harsh when cold.

mine has done fewer miles only 79000 km.

but i like to change engine oil, gear fluid and brake fluid when i buy a new car. then i know its been done :)
