Check system message flicks up on start up?

Hi as above really. On odd occasion the check system message comes up only when turning the key
To start. But then that's it. Also the abs system message also popped up yesterday instead of this on start up. Any ideas? Thanks. My car is a 2008 7th gen 2.2cdti sport GT

I believe the check system message is normal on startup on the facelift cars..

when you say the abs system message, it came on while driving?

Ahh ok. No no, just flicked up on start up on the screen where the mileage is. But only for a split second. But I did have the handbrake off and was rolling a little as I started the car.
