CL7 /sometimes rattle in vtec

Hello, my car is a 2007 2.0 executive auto with just 50k. Oil to max level and doesn't seem to burn oil.

I am an easy driver, and my Accord drives perfectly smooth. No problems at all. But sometimes if i pull through vtec (maybe once or twice on 100 miles) i hear a loud rattle coming from the drivers side (engine/firewall/dash?)

My first thought was there's something resonating, as the oil is fine and the car drives perfect 90% of the time.

Any ideas?

You say it rattles only in VTEC (i.e. under maximum load and revving). I've not heard of this before, but at a complete guess it could be something to do with timing chain or engine mounts perhaps?

Ah, good shout! Could just be something as simple as this.
