CG Motorsport clutches are developed for motorsport use, so are not particularly smooth... not ideal for a taxi. And they don't necessarily have a longer life, as that's not what they have been designed for (really for coping with large increases in torque).
Cruise control switch theory was mostly a bit of a red herring ... it was originally thought the switch was preventing the clutch pedal coming all the way back up, but it's now been seen many, many times that the I-CTDi problem is due solely to the weak springing on the LUK/Honda pressure plate (which is the same item used by CG Motorsport, unless you pay a lot extra for their new and untested replacement).
I tried to attach a few links to back up what I've said here, but the new forum won't let me! A lot more info on uprated clutches on the Civinfo forum, where many members have bought CG Motorsport clutches and provided reviews. Also an detailed article about the cruise control switch issue.
