so picked my new to me accord up this mornign 07 plated CDTI.
only problem noted is the slipping clutch which i didn't note on the test drive grrrrr.
seen people on here saying to replace them asap - why? can it cause other damage and what kind of damage are we talking about?

If you do a search on this there is loads on this site.

If you don't replace it you risk damaging your dual mass flywheel which is £1000+. Cost of Honda replacement for clutch is £599. You can go independent bit they need the specialist tools.

take it back and get them to sort it.
where did you buy the car

ok have read up on the forum a little more and does definitely appear to be a clutch issue - unsure about taking it back am thinking about just sorting it myself as at least i'd know where it was done (ie either HH or Honda huddersfield) but one question still bugging me when i turn off the car the car shudders is this a common accord diesel issue or am i also staring a DMF in the face? (blind panic is setting in).

any help calming words appreciated

Mine doesn't particularly rattle to be honest on turning off. Does it rattle while ticking over?

so where did you buy the car?
If its the dmf your looking at 1500 pounds

small un-franchised dealer in warrington.

PS just found faddy's clutch / dmf post - calmed me down a little will be taking it to HH just waiting for reply to a PM on the code for discounts at hh.

just shaken a little - car is great other than this, there are a few smaller niggles but stuff that can be sorted over the next few months

Just replied to you Richard, don't panic the clutch problem isn't the end of the world. If you're in Lancs then Stoke isn't far and HH will see you right.
