over the last week ive noticed my Accord CTDI has started to make a ticking noise from the engine only sometimes on tickover , if you race the engine up for a bit the noise clears off but then after a while will come back , its not low on oil and is always serviced at the correct intervals with the correct oil ?

Hi Gaz
Check the engine cover and other fixings if they have come loose?

Check for any leaks could be a injector issue!

Also could be a knackered DMF clanking at idle, It disappears when you dip the clutch and reappears when the clutch is released.

possibly a loose or leaking injector. Take off your noise hood and look at the injectors. If any are coated in black tar-like crud then they are loose and need re-seating ( i.e removing and re-fitting with a fresh sealing washer ). You may find the ticking noise when idling an might subside when the engine is up to temperature,=.
Good luck with it.

Have a look hear fella ;)

Cracked manifold's also make a similar noise. Have a look, sniff and listen under the bonnet fella.
