Hey all,

Recently (after a lorry nearly hit me) I acquired a dashcam and have been trying to hardwire it into the accord.

I'm connected to fuse 16 on the passenger side fusebox which is supposed to be the accessory power socket in the luggage area.
I'm thinking this is a 12v lighter socket but don't know.
The dashcam turns on when I start the car but does not turn off, I have to turn it off using the off button.

I have used the dashcam via the 12v lighter socket and it turns on and off with ignition ie no supply to lighter socket until ignition.
So if I'm on the same fuse why won't it turn off when ignition is turned off?

Have you connected something into the 12V lighter socket in the boot to see if that goes off when you turn the ignition off?

I've wired mine straight into the front lighter socket and works fine.

Also check the settings on your dashcam as some have the option to remain on and keep recording for a fixed time after the ignition goes off.

Thanks for the reply. Yes tried the socket yesterday using my satnav and there was no power with the ignition off.
I think I'm going to have to get the meter out.
