DIY: Full engine service on the Pre Facelift i-CTDI Accord

Fahad,

I am thinking to do my MTF change soon. Need some advise around what equipment or tools i need? People say have some sort of pump or spot to pour in oil through tinny hole from above and should i keep the overflow hole open for easy fill ?

Your help will be appreciated.

cheers

You just need a decent socket set and the right gearbox plug key. I have this set from Laser, one of them works I can't recall which

Have a decent funnel with the extender tube and something to catch the oil in.

It's eaiser than an engine oil change on this motor.

I've just spoke to Honda to get a price on a oil filter removal tool and £50+ seems a little steep.

Can anyone suggest a suitable aftermarket Oil filter socket tool to use?

I know some will say it's not advisable but I used a strap wrench, which was about 8 quid. But I think you can get the right size one from euro car parts.

They're all over the place.

Mine says 76mm 14 flats, but it actually measures closer to 74mm internal across flats

I bought same from Halford for £6.90. I struggled to find the right fit socket fro this. Used laser cut tools box square ( bought for transmission fluid change) But still was not a fit. Also my ratchet bith large and small don't fit in this square hole.

Any advise?
