DPF and Oil

Was in Halfords the other day with the intention of buying oil. I was told by the fella in there there's two different types of oil for cars with and without DPFs. I'm not sure whether mine has or hasn't got one. Is there a way of telling? Also, both oils recommended for both with and without DPFs is 5w/30 oils. I was under the impression that Honda recommend 0w/30 oil for their diesels. Are Halford's talking crap or is there something to their recommendations?

Your 7th Gen hasn't got a DPF

8th Gens have a DPF, and need low saps oil to prolong their life.

If you're planning on keeping the car through the next several services you could do a lot worse than get a tub of 0w30 from LubeTech

5w30 fully synthetic won't kill your car, but the recommended oil is 0w30.
