On my '05 CTDi the drinks holder cover will no longer catch and lie flat. Peering into other cars I see this might be a common problem. Has anyone had to repair theirs? It seems like a small matter (because it is!) but I'd like to fix mine if I can.
Thanks,

Your probably better off buying a complete cup holder unit. They are not very much money on ebay or people breaking accords on ebay

Obviously dependent on your interior colour scheme but they are quite cheap and easy to swap over.

I dont think the catch is available separately as lings lists the whole ***embly as item 3

Hope it helps

That's a good price on ebay, under a tenner with free postage and you would need to take the existing one off to see what the fault was anyway.

Thanks for both your responses. Definitely the eBay route looks better than a new unit from Honda, if the unit is even available. It's just a question of matching the interior trim spec.
Thanks for the parts diagram. That seems to show the whole back half of the centre consol being fixed by a pair of screws either side. I will see if these are accessible without taking the seats out. Otherwise I'm doubtful about getting the drinks holder out without damage.
I'm guessing this is not an easy fix otherwise there wouldn't be so many cars with open drinks lids in car parks.

I think you should be able to rmeove the cup holder ***embly without removing the entire centre section.
From the parts explosion you may have to remove item 41, see the first few seconds of this video on how to do that

Then part 15 should unclip around the edges and lift out. Havent actually tried it myself but it would seem so from the diagram, there doesnt seem to be any screw fastenings holding it down
