Eibach 30mm lowering spring

Ive read that replacing the stock springs with aftermarket lowering springs can lower the life of the standard dampers etc.
My question is with just a small drop of 30 mm (eibach) still affect the life of them?
Also will it affect the comfort of the car any? Dont want the car to feel bumpier.
So anyone out there currently using the 30mm eibach springs for a wile and could share any reviews on them

Yes it will shorten the life of your shocks. I would advise getting new shocks like Koni, Bilsten. I fitted Koni adjustables yesterday, they are really good. I can make them soft or firm;)
 
Why not go for A SPEC HH had a deal on these a wile back.
 
There's an Eibach review thread on here somewhere. The response is on the whole very positive for the ride. But any springs that lower your dampers more than they're designed to will prematurely wear them out. But I shouldn't think it will be anything drastic. But if you can afford Coilovers, then treat yourself ;) .
 
it will shorten the life of your dampers ,but not so much, so I wouldn't bother.
Some manufacturers ie. KW are saying that theirs springs up to -30mm can be used with standard dampers, lower then that should have sport dampers ie. Koni
Ride will be fine, firm but not bumpy or hard
new A spec suspension is three times dearer than eibach, but if you would like to spend 600 pounds on suspension I would choose eibach+koni than aspec, because you have adjustable dampers, and eibach will lower more then aspec that's all from my side :D
 
I got the same Eibach kit fitted a few weeks ago and to be honest there's hardly any difference in ride quality. If there is any difference it is very slight and I'm running them on standard springs with 18 inch wheels! Like has been said before, I'd also be inclined to think they will shorten the life of your shocks but other members have been using them for a year or more with no issues so far.

One thing about coilovers, they are VERY expensive for the Accord, I priced several places and all came in around 700 or over! They're fine if the car is being tracked but for everyday road use I was advised against them. They require a lot of tuning and setting up compared to the springs that take a couple of hours to fit.

One final thing, if you're only looking for a 30/35mm drop then coilovers are almost pointless. Coilovers only really come into their own when you're after a 50/60mm drop!

I was told the exact same thing by an experienced mechanic who along with running a garage has also built a few track cars in his time. Coil overs, like many expensive modifications, do need to be pushed to the limit to get the benefit and for modest round town driving with a lowered look and the slight increase in handling quality that will come from a lower centre of gravity, lowering springs should be all good.
 
cheers guys, yea was thinking it would be pointless paying out for coilovers when im only looking for a 35 mm drop. Just dont want car to feel bumpy with the springs fitted on standard shocks

I can tell you now that it wont :) I love them, they make the car feel much more solid on the road with less side to side movement when overtaking.

Should be even better for you up there in the north than it is for me in the south with our "great" roads :p

Roads arent much better up here lad lol. cheers, think i will go fo the eibachs ;)

try 60mm all round drop bud :D
 
Coilovers are 540 pounds from dc performance. Which is cheaper / same price as koni shocks n eibachs.

I won't lower my car on standard shocks that have 80k on them already. It might be ok but planning on keeping the car a while so a worthy investment.

The ride is comfy on the comfy setting but if you turn the adjuster on the top of the shock you could easily do a track day. I keep them half way and its just slightly firmer that stock.

If the springs are too hard / soft you can get more for like 40 quid.
