Engine bay - what is this bit?!?

I wish they'd made a Haynes manual for this car... Having a poke around in the engine bay and noticed this plastic cover
(just to the right of the bonnet support rod end). The two bolts that secure it to the front of the engine bay are missing and
it's just held in place with a plastic stud. Would be grateful to find out what it is, presumably I'll need to re-attach it properly!

IIRC it's a cover for the air intake.

I think the cover is there to stop the missus from pouring a couple of litres of water down there for the windscreen washers LOL
