Engine Light Stays On -Help!

Hi Guys

I need a bit of help!!!

I have just de-gunked the EGR valve etc.

Had to disconnect all the electrical connections to make life easy. The EGR valve was cleaner than I thought it was going to be but what a mess in the inlet manifold - no time for that so will have to do it at a latter date.

I have put it all back together and started it up first time but the engine light stays on.

Anybody got any ideas as to what might be the problem and is it safe to drive do you think.

Panic over!!!! - I took it for a drive round the block and the light has gone out.

Must have needed to settle down.

The cleaning seems to have got rid of the surging as well.

You should really consider a permanent EGR blank and delete. The car will be transformed

If EGR been blanked, wouldn't engine light turns on?
If no and somebody did it, what is the benefit practically?

Yes you can't just blank it, it needs a remap to close the EGR maps and make all the necessary corrections to the software.

We also tune them for power and economy at the same time. The car is transformed into a smoother, more powerful and economical motor as a result and guaranteed no more EGR problems ever again.

Would I have to take the blank out and undo the re-mapping or what?

No issue, and plate isn't visible. Emissions actually improve as the engine burns cleaner with a better air to fuel ratio.
