Hi, I did oil change on my 2006 diesel accord. I poured 6 litre in engine but when I checked dip stick on level ground ot is showing 2-3 mm above top notch.

Is it something I should be really concerned about? Any ideas how can I reduce this without draining all oil?

better to remove the extra oil since it could damage the seals (with pressure)

to remove it just jack the car and remove the bottom bolt (as if you are draining oil) and put the bolt back in after 3 sec. leave about 15 min just in case and recheck dipstick

Get a syringe and tube from amazon or ebay and suck it out from the top.

The maximum that engine can take with a new filter is 5.9 litres so putting 6 in without checking how much is already in there isn't a smart move really.

You should put just over 5 litres in, turn over the engine and let the oil filter fill up and then check again and gradually fill up to the right level.

No need to warm the engine up, do it cold. If you do remove the plug completely, the spray will go everywhere when you try to put it back in. If you let it drip out with the drain plug unscrewed put not removed, it will take longer, but there will be less mess.
