So I've ordered a 15430-RBD-E02 oil filter, which is 115mm long, but then see this:

Which says the facelift should have the shorter filter. So does that mean it won't fit in my 57 plate engine? And why does nobody on this forum seem to know about it?

I'll check mine in a bit... HH sent my new one the other day.

Well Lings shows the same part number (PFKL314394) for all years it seems. There's a 15430-RBD-E01 as well as an E02, which look the same from a few searches, all seem to come up as "04-08 Accord" as the car. So why on the box is there the picture of the 94mm and the 115mm filters? My box seems to have an arrow pointing to both images, with a red cross through the arrow! Odd.

Mine is the longer one. But then it would be ;)

Would it make a difference though if the oil filter housing is the same length on both facelift and pre facelift

Well I guess the short filter will fit in a long filter housing, but if the facelift is meant to have a shorter filter it would have a short filter housing?

Maybe I just need to go ahead with the oil change and see what happens, if I get half way through and it doesn't fit I'll have to stick the old filter back in and wait until the next change I guess.

I have an 04 pre facelift model Accord CTDI and my wife has an 07 facelift Accord CTDI , I rang Honda main dealers today and both our cars have the same part number for the oil filter element and casing ?

That was my point exactly in the other thread.

Yeah thanks all I think I'm a bit less worried now, just had a panic as it'll be my first oil change and I've got all the bits I need (or on their way) just don't really want anything to go wrong!! Kinda wish there was someone I know could come and walk me through it, my brother can help but he knows less than me about cars! I've done spark plug changes on a 3.0 I6 twin turbo which was easy enough (following a guide), so oil change on the i-CTDi should be a doddle.
