faults: p2004 and p1401

On gen 8 fault code P1401 is non specific I spoke to remappers he said when fault reappears not to clear it as ignition off/on did bring it out of limp mode, then bring it back he will take a look.

He thinks it may be something to do with boost pressure & i did make the mistake of removing the Cat. When he was remapping it he found it kept going into limp mode so he tuned the pressure down so good chance that could be it but he can't remember what code came up.

Now its just wait an see if & when it comes back I'll update with any outcome.

It won't be non specific mate, needs to go on a hds to be sure but I believe on DPF cars it can relate to pressure differential sensor which should have already been solved.

My mate looked it up on is car data & it said non specific there ? I take it hds is a computer system u guys use that may/will read the fault so your saying this sensor can't go faulty as its totally mapped out ?

Are well has long as people read this its great advice for them as a taxi I should get some good feedback as it gets older faster than a family motor.

Same as I never had to post on Gen 7 as good info experiences were already there.

I'm saying if it is the differential pressure sensor then if mapped correctly this is a sensor that shouldn't be doing anything now as there is no pressure building up in the DPF for it to measure. Can't say more than that without actually telling a tuner how to do it! Get it diagnosed properly first..

Maybe i should call Honda to see if i can get this pipe changed under this extended warranty i do doubt it as anything to do with code 1401 but at least the EGR would be looked at.

I'm still under the maximum mileage for this which is 125.000.

I hope this link finds the service bulletin on this issue first time i've tried to upload here not that simple.

Got the thumbs up on this today its ordered & fitted next Wednesday they have never removed an EGR on a iDtec yet even they say its a difficult job.

Honda give 1.7 hours for it maybe they timed it with the engine out on the floor lol, Lightcliff want it all day to be sure & i agree first time it will be a sod to do.
