Faulty window switch on drivers side

Hi guys,

Noticed a fault with the master window switch.....the window switch which controls the off side rear window will open but not close the window....the rear switch closes it so not the motor.

Tried cleaning switch as best I could but not easy and no different.

Any ideas?

Could replace switch....saw these on eBay Look at this on eBay:

Or get a second hand one?

Check the wires on the door hinge, remove the rubber boot and look for damaged wire

The switches inside that driver's module are quite complex, the individual switches in the other 3 doors are simple and route through the door multiplex unit into the driver's module, so if the individual switches work, then the fault is inside the relevant switch in the driver's module. I've never opened it up, but I suspect that it's very difficult to get to the relevant contacts.

you can open the module, but what about the switches ? is there also a circuit board in there ?

Thanks guys....will try opening the module and see if I can clean the switch...any thing I should worry about disconnecting it?

Any thoughts on the eBay replacement?

I'd disconnect the battery -ve lead, and only attempt to remove the master switch for the rear offside, otherwise you run the risk of stopping all the others too, but each master switch is a separate unit.
