Bad morning, leaving for work at 5:30 in the rain and the fob packs up working.
Tried opening car with key and the alarm goes off, lock the car back up and the alarm stops.
Have replaced the battery in the fob twice but still no luck.
In the end had to take wife's car and she is not happy, nor are the neighbours
Is there anyway to turn the alarm off without the fob ?
If not and I get a new fob will I be able to program it with the alarm activated ?
Any help greatly appreciated

Unlocking the car with the key should disarm the alarm. I can't remember why, but mine did this a while back when I was doing something. Have you not got another key fob (spare key)? Use that to get in and check the fuses for the ECU and such like.

sounds like the fob needs pairing to the car again as you have let the battery die down

Yeh as type R says, try googling how to do it as its very easy to reprogramme to your car.

It transpires that the fob has failed.
Spoke to Honda who wanted £96+vat for a new fob.
Got a reconditioned fob from Ian Parsons for £30 at

Ordered on Saturday and arrived on Tuesday and now programmed to the car
Definitely recommended if you find your self in the same situation as I did

how did you programme the key fob?
1. Turn the key from position 0 to position II
2. Press either the lock or unlock button on the fob
3. Turn the key from position II to position 0
4. repeat step 1 to 3 twice more in quick succession
5. Turn the key from position 0 to position II again
6. Press either the lock or unlock button on the fob, you will hear the central locking cycle (clunking noise), the car is in programming mode
7. Then press the Lock button on the fob, the central locking will cycle again
8. Repeat step 7 to programme up to 3 fobs. must be completed within 10 seconds of each other
9. Turn the key from position II to position 0 to end programming mode

Please remember that each time you add a fob you must complete this for all fobs with the car as the programming wipes out any previous fobs

Thank you very much smudger, I just replaced the battery in my fob and its refusing to play ball
