Head lights faded

Can any one help me with this. My front head lights are all faded. How can I get them looking like new without buying new ones lol??

Quite a common problem. Years of sun has faded the lacquer.

Have you tried some cutting compound on them, T-Cut or similar? Some have said toothpaste also works.

Funny, as I did mine yesterday, the drivers was bad. I used this kit http://www.halfords.com/motoring/cleaning-products/detailing-products/meguiars-one-step-headlight-restoration-kit.
I did it twice and they look like new now

Depends how bad...you can polish or if really bad wet sand and then polish....

if your really lazy use the 3m lens restore kit. it uses a cordless drill

Yeah the halfords kit uses a drill also

I heard the headlight lens might need to be sealed (i.e. a special type of wax or something to polish the headlight with) as the lens will fade again.
The process of sanding down the lens removes the UV protection layer on the headlight lens and the fade and yellowish layer will return quickly
How long do peoples lenses last without after treatment?

What have people used? Or would a plastic polish be sufficient?

Need to do the headlights on my prelude as they are getting quite bad now

Bottle of t-cut n a buffer does the trick

I just used car wax, so will have to wait and see what happens.
