Hi people,

Help/advice needed please.

I have a 2002 facelift honda accord hatchback sport model and just wondering where is the manual adjustments on the headlights mechanism to make them go vertical, to go either up or down? I can only see the adjustments to go side to side.. though there is 2 icons on the headlights to show adjustments but cant seem to find the vertical one. My beam is a bit off and want to get it sorted asap.

Any help is much appreciated.

(sorry if this has been posted up before)

Thanks in advance,
Pat

Hi Pat on the 7 th and 8th gen we have a manual adjust switch right of the steering wheel.
Not sure if it's the same for the 6th gen.
This is used for lowering your lights if you have a heavy weight in the boot

Thanks for reply brett,

Yeah i have a switch for that too just wondering if there is a manual adjustment as the switch doesnt lower the beam much..

The switch is to the right side of steering wheel slightly bottom, it is one of those circular type siwtches you roll up and down and it is numbered. That adjusts the headlights up and down.

Much appreciate that jsmith! Will look into it, though through that hole looks empty not like the other one or do you have to turn it on this one?

This can be done without taking the headlights out right?

Yes I'll take some pics and upload then.

It has to be the exact size screwdriver as well. You can feel if it wants to turn or not. Until it feels like it wants to go... don't force it. I also found that with mine they had never been adjusted and we're a little stiff. Try and turn it gently back and forth until it feels free enough to move a complete turn.

As promised here are some pics of my headlights, both sides so you can clearly see where to find the area to insert the correct sized Phillips head screwdriver.

Driver-side first...

Closer image. Insert the screwdriver in the open hole and turn... carefully! This will raise or lower the headlight angle.

Same for the passenger side...

Hope this helps!

Very much appreciate your help with this jsmith! Ill give that a go later! Hopefully will solve my beam.. Hopefully will have a right/suitable size phillips screw driver to fit it!

On another note your accord bay looks super clean!

Thanks. I do try to keep her tip top. It does help that it's low milage with only one previous owner though.

Here are some pics of the screwdriver I used alongside screwdrivers you shouldn't use. It should fit perfectly. Not to loose and obviously don't force it.

DO NOT USE ANY OF THESE.

No flat blades, No torx, No bit screwdrivers (unless used with 25mm long correct sized bits) and even though those Phillips heads look correct, they aren't. The far left is too large and the next one is too small.

This is the Correct size screwdriver. You should notice it has a wider blades on the head but has the thinner shank to fit tight in the adjuster.
