Help! Can't Open Up my Service Manual

Hi

I have got the Honda Accord Service manual on disc and it only works with Internet Explorer.

Just come to use it and am now panicking. I know it is possible to get it to work by somehow reloading Explorer but have completely forgotten!!!!

Just going into the Default apps on the computer and changing the Web Browser to Internet Explorer doesn't do it as it used to.

Can anyone help please.

You can use internet explorer through microsoft edge apparently

If you have Windows 10/11 with all updates installed IE got removed at some point

You need to load it in IE mode through Edge, there's some more detailed instructions here:

When you are putting in the URL use something like this:



Replace F with the letter of your CD drive .... maybe file:///D:/HONDAESM.HTML

BTW MS only removed the ability to open IE directly. You can restore that function so you don't have to go through Edge. But whatever works, works.
