Have owned my accord now for about 4 months its a 2.2 icdti 2004 anyways I did three years of a mechanics apprenticeship before moving away from the trade. So I know my way around a car reasonably well.
So my car started to give out a lot of black smoke, cleaned the egr and all was fine then on the way home from the gym on monday the eml came on I plugged it into a code reader an the imrc came up. Cleaned that and its working fine now ( opening and closing the valave ) then on tuesday morning I started it and went to frive to work and had no power at all, with the pedal floored it was sitting at 1000 rpm spluttering and struggling to rev, then it started to clear and final revved right out,
So I tried to take of and it died, started it again and same thing got it to rev up and held the revs above 2000 rpm and took of and drove ok aslong as the engine revs are kept above 2000 rpm,
So I took my other car to work and left the accord in the drive,
Came home from work and wouldn't start eventually got it started. Still the same tho won't accerlate like normal untill over 2000 rpm. So I've tried bypassing the fuel filter to see and that has made no difference, I'm 90% sure thereno air in the fuel system etc
I'm not getting any smoke atall,
Do these have a low pressure fuel pump? Or just high pressure ?
Has anyone any tips or ideas the car wouldn't start today again so I'm thinking the fuel is running back to the tank maybe ?
Any help much appericated
Thanks aron
