help needed just changed air filter 2004 exec diesel

Did you not look at the pictures?

Hi

Update :

Changed MAF Sensor made a little bit of difference.

Changed fuel.

Added loads of different types of additives to the fuel to see if a cleaner could sort it.

Going to try to strip and clean EGR Valve.

best regards

Almost definitely your egr mate. Try blanking it temporarily

Hi

If my EGR is going faulty how will this affect my emissions.

My MOT is next week.

Best regards

NOx emissions are not currently part of the MoT test, so EGR deletion will not cause an MoT fail.

However, if you blank your EGR valve without appropriate remapping then the car will go into 'limp' mode and bring on the Malfunction Indicator Light... and since January this is an automatic MoT fail!

Hi

Thank you for letting me know Jon about the mot.

The 4 torx bolts in the top of it, can they be undone and the electronics removed ?

In order to get intoit without having to remove it completly.

I think the electronics are still working and it is just heavily coated in soot.

Best regards

I've suggested a few times now to look at the pics on the Facebook page and blank it at the bypass pipe.

You've tried everythjng else but my first suggestion.

Hi

I have looked at the pics and they are very helpful.

I dont really want to remove egr or remap it if it could be avoided.

I would like to try and keep it as original as possible.

One question if it was remapped how would that affect my insurance since it would be a modification ?

Best regards

If u remapped for power, you would technically need to declare it and best to ask them how it affects your policy.

I can also remap without power, but the price is the same.

I understand the desire to keep it original, but the EGR plays no positive benefit for your diesel engine.
